Karate is okay...

I went back to karate after like a year or so. Everybody has been begging for me to come back. I tried katare last night and people were happy I came back. I got most of my stuff down because I was with other people and I had some muscle memory "I think". Since my mom just joined a few weeks ago, she's been struggling with down block and her first kata. I tried to help her but she kept saying she's dyslexic and she may quit. I tried my best to help her.

Thinking About Retro Summer Stuff

I'm thinking about having a whole summer where we don't use cell phones and just have fun and use retro tech and physical media. YES I didn't live in the 80s and 90s but when I was 5 to 9 years old, I did use DVDs to watch my movies in my bedroom and wasn't allowed to use the internet "except for sometimes when I'm allowed to watch educational youtube channels such as Homeschool pop or watch movies with my mom on prime video" until I was 10 and was allowed to download videos off of youtube to watch in my room. I'm kinda sick of my phone and I wanna make friends who I can hang out with in real life.

Weird dream of tiny creatures eatting blue and pink slop food

I had a very weird dream where I was a kinda a furby and a guinea pig and I was only creature who can talk. I was in a beige room that looked like our bathroom but it looked bigger and it only had a bathtub, a counter top, and a cage with these tiny creatures who look like those small lookies from Rainbow Friends but they have no eyes and all they do is eat blue and pink slop food. There was a caretaker who took care of the creatures and me "I think she's a woman". I was the only one who didn't eat the food. I thought the food had too much sugar so I told the caretaker that too much sugar is bad. She didn't reply. Soon something was happening but I don't know what it is. The caretaker took the creatures to this small room where there were a bunch of cages. She put them in the cages and I was too big for the cages so I was in the bathtub. Weird stuff happened and then the cats woke me up from the dream and I looked at the clock and it was 9:30am and I was like "I woke up too late".

What it would look like if I made an operating system?

"This is supposed to be a fun blog by the way..."

If i made an operating system, it would be very customizable so you customize the taskbar to make it look glossy, glassy, or flat. You can customize the overall computer to make it your style. The operating system would have your normal everyday programs such as a file explorer, camera, painter, and others. The operating system would have stuff to protect the computer from viruses and harmful malware. The computer should be built with good quality stuff and should run better than a Windows 11 computer.

I'm not interested in making an operating system but that was just a random thought...

The internet, Drama, and Physical media: an essay about the internet

PS: this essay is from my spacehey account

So you know this thing called the internet. It's for learning stuff you might be interested in. It's for finding internet buddies and checking what your real life friends are posting. And it's for checking out your favorite creators and see their newest video or post. But people like me are kinda sick of it because of social media, algorithms, and AI. We are sick of subscriptions because they are so money hungry and annoying. We kinda want to get off and live our normal lives and spend time with friends and family.

But the internet wasn't always like this. According to Wikipedia, it was in the making in the 1960s for time sharing of computer resources and was released in America in 1995 (along with Windows 95). The pre-internet was called Dial Up Internet. The home phone had to connect to the home computer in order to connect to the internet so if you picked up the phone while the other person was using the home computer, that other person would be disconnected. It used to be a fun place back when the internet was new. It had ridiculous websites with silly animations and wacky text. It was the wild west of the 90s and 2000s.

Also social media wasn't always bad either. Back then, there was a website called Myspace. Before it was a music website, it was a website where you could find friends and post stuff for your friends. You could also customize your profile to make it look cute or awesome to fit your personality. There was also email and AOL during the time. The reason why now social media feels addicting is because of TikTok. Before TikTok, websites didn't have an algorithm. The thing was when you followed someone, they appeared in your feed. You have to find the creator that you want to watch by searching for that creator. You didn't have a robot guess what you like.

So there is this trend where people would get off their phone and/or delete social media apps for a month or even a year and talk about the benefits they would get from doing it. People are starting to find hobbies. Also people are starting to use CDs, DVDs, and other types of physical media because of nostalgia and that streaming services suck now. People want really own things again. They feel more connected to music when they use a CD.

In conclusion, we talked about a little bit about internet history, social media, and physical media. My thoughts about it? Well I'm into physical media too. I understand why people think this way. The internet does suck in its own ways but there are some parts of the internet that are good. When it comes to the internet, you shouldn't be on the screens too much but not completely get off of the internet (unless if you want to). I hope you enjoyed this essay. If there are mistakes or you want to tell me about your opinions about this essay, let me know. Anyways, have fun! :)
